How To: Keep Blonde Hair Blonde

For all my blondies!!!! This blog is all about you!! As if heads weren’t already turning your way with that gorgeous hair when you leave the salon. Blonding services can be pricey between highlights or balayage and I definitely want you to have healthy beautiful hair from appointment to appointment. In between your salon visits, your blonde locks can tend to fade, dull or yellow. So I have come up with a list of at home tips to help keep your blondes bright and beautiful.

Color safe or Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner

Color safe shampoo and conditioner will help keep the toners to last in the hair. Sulfate free is even better when you get a color safe shampoo because the sulfate is a form of salt which can strip the color and dry the hair out.

Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will help restore moisture in the hair. Blonde hair goes through a lot and needs a lot of that moisture back in.

Purple Shampoo

YES, PURPLE!! The purple in the shampoo actual helps make the blonde brighter. If your hair starts to turn brassy or dingy it would be best to use this shampoo to help tone out that yellowy color. I would recommend to use it at least once a week, but if you use it too much it can cause the hair to dry out. If you use it too much you can get a lavender cast to the hair.

Treatments

Hair Masks that help to deep condition your hair to replenish moisture and revive the hair.

Protein treatments - you can get olaplex treatments in the salon to add the missing proteins back in that hair, or buy olaplex 3 for at home treatments. I do offer Olaplex 3 Color bombs for blondes to help tone the hair and do a treatment in the process. The color bombs start at $35.

Filtered Shower head

Yes you read that right! Water is the number 1 cause of color fading or causing your hair to do strange things. There is chlorine, iron, and other elements and minerals in the water that can cause the hair to turn brassy or dull. You can buy a new shower head that filters the bad junk out and it works great for your hair and skin. They come in a wide range or prices and easy to install. You can find them on Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, or even Bed Bath and Beyond (Bed Bath and Beyond always have a coupon online).

So these are just a few things that you can do at home to keep the longevity of your blonde hair. I do recommend to do a toning service between visits and trim hair every 4-8 weeks to keep your blonde hair beautiful as well.
